This function handles open-loop boost control, calculating the PWM duty cycle for the boost solenoid based on the selected table, gear, TPS, and additional user-defined modifiers.
Requires an output to be set as Boost solenoid (simple/open loop).
Supports up to 3 boost tables, selected via input switches or Bluetooth.
Optionally adjusted by:
•Gear-based multiplier.
•TPS-based multiplier.
•Extra table adjustment (additive or multiplicative)
•Launch control override can force boost duty to preconfigured values (three levels).
Boost control (simple/open loop)
Boost control mode
Specifies how the function is enabled.
•Disabled - Boost control disabled.
•ENABLED - Boost control is enabled.
•Enabled with digital input - Boost control is enabled when the digital input function Boost Control Enable is active.
Activate above MAP
Specifies the MAP value where the control will be active, default 120kPa.
Note: Before MTune 1.145, the MAP value had to exceed 120kPa to actually pulse the output.
target tables
Specifies the target tables to be used for the selected boost strategy.
•Single table - One boost duty table available.
•Dual table (switch activated) - Two boost duty tables available, switchable by triggering the digital input function Boost target switch (use table 2).
•Triple (switch activated) - Three boost duty tables available, switchable by triggering the digital input function Boost target switch (use table 3).
•Triple (controlled from MDash) - Three boost duty tables available, changeable in the MDash android app, see MDash boost selector.
TPS adjustments
Enables a table to adjust boost duty by TPS, mostly used to lower boost duty on lower TPS positions.
Gear adjustments
Enables a table to adjust boost duty by gear, requires a wheelspeed sensor. Used to lower boost duty on lower gears.
Extra adjustments table
Enables an user defined table, to adjust boost by anything you want.
•add % to main table - Adds the extra table duty as a percentage to the main duty. Ex: 90% main table + 5% extra table = 95% total boost duty.
•Multiply with main table - Multiplies the extra table duty with the main table duty. Ex: 90% = 90% of the main table value. 100% = no change.
Solenoid
Specifies the boost solenoid (with preset frequencies). Select User defined if your solenoid isn't listed to manually set the frequency below.
Solenoid frequency
Specifies the boost solenoid frequency if a User defined solenoid selected above.
Boost solenoid duty table X
Description
Name of the boost level. You can name it freely. If using MDash boost selector, this name appears in the MDash switch.
Boost duty
The open loop base duty table outputs the specified duty at the set frequency when no compensations are active.
In MaxxECU RealTime Data, Boost control, Active boost table.
In the boost settings, an -active- text will be visible right next to the active boost level.
Simplest possible boost control solution. Just a plain solenoid duty (%) table with load and RPM as axis.
At full throttle above 120kPa, output boost duty is 80%. At ~50% throttle, it’s 50% of that—i.e., 40% solenoid duty.
In gear 1, 2, and 5, the boost duty is 50% of the value from the open loop duty table.
In gear 4, 5, and 6, the full value from the open loop duty table is used.
When DIN1 is inactive (0), 50% of the open-loop boost duty is delivered to the solenoid.
