MaxxECU Documentation

The actuator control system drives two-direction motors for on/off accessories such as exhaust cutouts, variable intake flaps, or aerodynamic wings. Each actuator operates in two fixed positions; fully open or fully closed, with no intermediate control.

The state of the actuator is controlled by the digital input PDM Actuator control. This can be a wired digital input or an PDM internal outputs triggered by any user selectable conditions.

When the control input Actuator control is activated, the output Actuator X Open/Positive/+ is active for a selectable time. When the input is deactivated again, the Actuator X Close/Negative/- outputs is activated for a selectable time.

Using a motor connected directly to the H-bridge outputs on the PDM

No relays needed, the PDM changes the motor direction, and the built-in current sensor can be used to detect and stop at the end-position (the current peaks when the actuator hits a mechanical stop).

See, PDM Actuator control settings.
